Confrérie du Guillon

History

Created in 1954, the Brotherhood of Guillon aims at illustrating and at promoting vineyards and vaudois wines.

A Governor and about forty Councillors are playing the role of executive.

The Brotherhood of Guillon organizes fourteen annual ressats in the great Castle of Chillon, by the Lake Geneva.

Ressats pass on the tradition of the meals that farmers and winegrowers share with their helpers

in thankfulness and exaltation after the harvest.

Grades

The various grades of the Confrérie du Guillon are the following:

• Gouverneur

• Conseiller : Conseiller actif

• Conseiller honoraire : Conseiller Emérite

• Préfet : Conseiller représentant la Confrérie dans les Cotterds (stamms)

• Compagnon d’honneur: Hauts dignitaires du monde des arts, du sport, de la magistrature et de l’économie

• Compagnon Juré : Professionnel de la vigne et du vin occupant une fonction clef dans le milieu viti-vinicole suisse et étranger

• Compagnon Majoral: Personnalité clef du monde des arts, du sport, de la magistrature et de l’économie

• Châtelain d’un soir: Personnalité honorée un soir uniquement

• Compagnons ministériaux: Collaborateurs directs

• Commune combourgeoise: Commune amie, propriétaire de vignes en terre vaudoise
